Award-Winning Bespoke Hydrotherapy Plunge Pools

Cheshire Wellness was commissioned to design and manufacture a fully bespoke hydrotherapy suite comprising a mosaic-tiled hot plunge pool and cold plunge pool, each measuring 4.3m × 2m × 1m.

Created to support recovery at every level, these custom-built plunge pools provide an environment where performance, wellbeing and premium design come together. Engineered for contrast therapy, the installation delivers a professional-grade recovery experience suitable for elite sport, rehabilitation and wellness applications.

Contrast bathing involves alternating immersion between warm and cold water to encourage cycles of vasodilation and vasoconstriction. This process helps stimulate circulation and is widely used to support post-exercise recovery, reduce fatigue, ease muscle soreness and promote overall wellbeing.

Whether incorporated into a high-performance training environment or a broader wellness offering, hydrotherapy can benefit users of all ages and abilities. Typical sessions involve alternating between hot and cold immersion over a 20–30 minute period to create a restorative and invigorating recovery experience.

Manufactured using high-performance GRP (fibreglass) construction and finished with premium mosaic tiling, the plunge pools combine durability, functionality and exceptional aesthetics to create a facility designed for long-term use.

This project was recognised with a Bronze Award for Special Requirement Pool of the Year at the British Pool & Hot Tub Awards.
